mental health, insight and
skill-building needs.
Kiaran enjoys working with people of all ages, from the very young (with their families) to adults. She draws on a variety of approaches to tailor an approach to best suit the unique needs of each individual client. Please feel free to speak with Kiaran if there is a particular approach you would like
to discuss.
Capacity Building
Kiaran can provide capacity building supports to children, teens and adults who self-manage their NDIS Plan, or have a Plan Manager.
Kiaran enjoys helping clients with effective coping, emotional regulation, independence building, problem-solving and protective behaviours.
Assessments
Kiaran can provide respectful
neuroaffirming assessments for older children, adolescents and adults interested in exploring whether they may be neurodivergent.
Kiaran is an accredited diagnostician in SA meaning her reports can be used to access supports via Autism SA if desired and/or to apply for NDIS access where applicable.

Kiaran also has extensive experience assessing parenting capacity and child-parent relationships
(**not currently accepting new referrals**)

Supervision
Kiaran is a Board-Approved Supervisor able to provide peer supervision to other registered psychologists, and supervision to psychologists working towards clinical endorsement.
Kiaran is especially motivated to support other clinicians working with children and families involved with the out of home care system, and clients (of all ages) who have experienced complex trauma.

Complex Trauma

Kiaran has a particular interest in supporting people of all ages navigating complex or developmental trauma, including the implications for attachment, self-concept, development, emotional regulation, behaviour,
mental health, relationships and parenting capacity.
This can include:
  • trauma processing and the management of trauma-related mental health needs
  • understanding and processing life story work
  • supporting children, young people, parents, families or individuals with previous or current out of home care experience
  • skill-building for children, young people and families managing big emotions and behaviours
  • using a collaborative and proactive problem solving approach to challenges being encountered at home, school or in the community
  • supporting families of all forms looking to process traumas, strengthen child-parent relationships and overcome challenges (e.g. via dyadic therapy, attachment-focused work, Child Parent Psychotherapy, etc)
  • promoting parent/caregivers' ability to develop and maintain a safe, attuned, and trauma-informed approach to parenting tailored to the needs of the particular child being cared for.
